This little guy is so super special. He's at home wherever he is and the life of the party! He's started sleeping in front of the refrigerator door because he likes to be there when we open it. Wherever there is action he's up for it. He comes from very small shiba bloodlines with the mame gene. It would be the same as mini in terms we use in the USA, but the mame (bean sized) gene has been part of the shiba inu genome for thousands of years and is quite rare in nature because both parents generally have to carry it to pass it to the young. This little shiba pups parents are both 12 pounds and approximately 11.5 inches at the shoulders.A standard shiba is 13.5 - 15.5 for female and 14.5 to 16.5 for males although it is increasingly common for the newer generations of shibas bred in the USA to be 17 inches and larger with weights from 30 to over 45 pounds. In Japan the oversized USA shiba is frowned upon as a defect while the mame-shiba size was given it's own recognition and registry and is becoming increasingly popular amongst travelers and people living in apartments and condos.The lucky family that gets this beautiful little guy will potentially enjoy the next 15 to 18 years of comic relief and unyielding affection from bonding to a well bred and dedicated shiba inu!Happy to meet up with his new owners in person or willing to help set up transportation from our door to yours.Exclusive to the shiba inu since 1993... our experiences have shown us that smaller built shibas of good breeding live long and healthy lives and we've had two of our many beloved shibas make it past 20yr.
