Here’s Preacher yesterday after the storm, sleeping peacefully, knowing he’s safe and not alone It would be great if he could experience this feeling Christmas morning, with a family sitting around the tree and opening gifts, something he has not seen before! He’ll just enjoy watching everyone having a good time but I’m sure he wouldn’t mind getting a treat or two for Christmas. I can tell you what kind he likes He’s really low maintenance, quiet and very respectful towards dogs and children. Please open up your heart and home for this gentle sweetheart and give him a chance. He deserves to have a good life for the remainder of his years.Update: It didn’t dawn on me how crucial it is to foster or adopt until last night…Living outside every day and having to experience the difficulties of thunderstorms, I believe Preacher has some PTSD from them. Last night during the tornado storms in Hendersonville, Preacher followed me everywhere, to the front door when I peeked outside to check the weather, to the kitchen window to see what’s going on there, and to the couch with me afterwards. At that point, I could tell he was reliving his fears from living outside so I sat down next to him on the floor and comforted him until he fell asleep peacefully, safe and dryA sneak peek of Preacher's photo shoot.... Who couldn't love this 60 pounds of cuteness?? These pictures captured his personality perfectly! All he needs is a yard and blanket, and he's perfectly content. He was taking in the sights the entire time, seeing things he's never seen before.Good morning from Preacher!! After a week in his foster home with me and getting adjusted to this new way of living, let me tell you about this Gentle Giant! He may be older but all he seeks his love and attention Since he thinks he’s smaller than he is, he’ll curl up on your lap and enter dreamland. I don’t think there’s a mean bone in his body. After years of being alone, I think he’s finally found his happy place and learned that there are good people in this world!Preacher is a really sweet easy going guy, gets along with other dogs, he really appreciates being cared for and loved .He was neglected for a pretty long time , he has an old fracture that has healed in a broken position , the vet says it is not causing him any pain and at this point at least he has some support , the next step would be amputation! He was missing most of his fur and skin was raw and irritated, eyes sad and filled with mucous . He is thriving being cared and would love to have a home that will love him and never neglect him again .
