On the market for a strong, gorgeous, independent woman? Look no further than Princessa, now fostering in New England!At present, everything is new and exciting (and a little scary) for this 2 year old mama dog, whose puppies have all found homes.....it's now moms turn. Rescued as a stray from the streets of Memphis, Princessa is a girl accustomed to having to fend for herself. She’s looking for a home that will give her structure and security, so she can relax and learn to be a part of a healthy pack structure. “Inside” is new to this girl. She will go potty outside when given the opportunity, but she never had to ask to go outside before, so she needs help developing that ability. This should be fairly easy since she wants to please and just adores her humans.She loves being in a home and truly enjoys snuggling on the sofa with her humans. At 57 pounds, she’s convinced she’s the perfect lap dog...who are we to say otherwise?Princessa is a strong girl. She is slowly learning the concept of a leash, so on-going training is needed. An easy walk harness would probably be best for her to deter her desire to pull. This brindle beauty is fine with dogs and plays hard. She would love a canine mate with the same energy and play style (no couch potatoes for her). She would also thrive in a house with a yard for her to romp and run.She loves plush toys - but is in the process of learning what is an appropriate doggie toy versus a household item such as a nice soft cushion.Due to her exuberance, she would do best in a home with older, dog savvy children or a home with adults only. She does love her foster’s grandchildren, but could easily inadvertently topple over smaller kids.Having had to think for herself while being a stray, this sweet girl will need continued guidance to understand proper "family member" behavior.
