Rachel was found abandoned by a bus stop by a few local concerned citizens, near a gym in Biloxi. Her previous owners unfortunately could no longer care for her due to circumstances out of their control so she was left waiting at the bus stop for someone to rescue her. Thankfully, she was found by animal lovers in the community and made it safely to HSSM by animal control. Rachel deserves a loving environment where she can feel safe and trust that she will never be abandoned again. If interested in adopting Rachel and giving her unconditional love, please contact XXXX@hssm.org or stop by the shelter located off of HWY 49 in Gulfport.Adoption processHSSM is home to over 300 pets on any given day, most of which are looking for new forever homes! Your new best friend could be waiting at HSSM right now. Our beautiful, 41,000 square foot facility is currently open to the public. HSSM is open for adoptions Tuesday – Friday from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. No appointment is necessary to adopt, however, adoptions are first-come, first served. You must come to HSSM to complete your adoption and make sure you bring a photo ID, as it is required to complete adoption paperwork.Our adoptable animals page is self-updating and displays ALL of HSSM’s adorable adoptable pets from “pocket pets” to birds and of course the hundreds of dogs and cats currently calling HSSM home! See one you like? Make sure you note your favorite’s name and animal ID number so that HSSM staff and volunteers can easily find him/her when you come in!Adoptions are cut off every day about 30 minutes prior to closing and possibly earlier if volume is high.
