Rat Terrier Dog for Adoption in Atlanta, Georgia, 99163 USNickname: Opie (WA) Posted Breed: Rat Terrier (short coat). Opie is going places! In fact, thanks to the assistance of Pilots N Paws, this 5-year-old rat terrier has already gone places, flying 1,000 miles from California to his New Rattitude foster home in Washington state. Sweet, shy Opie bonds to people very quickly and wants nothing more than to be close to his humans. He can be a bit anxious, and while never destructive, he may bark and cry when left alone. He also can become overwhelmed when his canine foster siblings get rambunctious, and he may bark and snap at them. Even though he hasn't become particularly close to any of them, he does tend to follow their lead. If at least one of his humans is home all the time, he would probably be fine as an only dog. If not, he might enjoy the company of another dog who is gentle, independent, and confident. He does chase small animals, so he would probably be best in a home without cats. Fit and svelte, Opie weighs 20 lbs. He has been around calm children and enjoyed their attention and care, so he would be great as a family dog with responsible and gentle children. Opie is house-trained and doesn't have indoor accidents as long as he has access to the outdoors or has his people nearby to tell them he needs to go out. What's next for this traveling man?
