Hey there, I'm Sam, a resilient and affectionate 1-year-old black Lab mix on a quest for my forever home. I was found as a stray on the streets of Texas, and it was clear I’d recently had a litter of puppies, but none were found with me. Because my puppies were taken away too soon, I developed a painful mastitis infection and I was scheduled to be put down. But Project Hope saved me, I’ve made a full recovery and found my way north in search of a home to call my own.I weigh about 55 lbs and I’m spayed. I'm a bundle of joy waiting to bring warmth and companionship to your life. My love for play is infectious, especially when I'm romping around with other dogs, and boy do I love mud. I long for a fur-sibling companion to share my adventures with. My food motivation and easy trainability make me a joy to work with, while my impeccable house manners reflect my gentle nature.Having mastered crate-training and housebreaking, I come well-equipped for family life. I'm microchipped, up-to-date on vaccinations, and eagerly awaiting the chance to be by your side, offering loyalty and love. We will review the application and then pass on to the dog's foster family (if applicable). We then contact the potential adopter's vet and we will also do a home visit.
