Meet Sandy! Sandy is a total lovebug and oh so sweet. She loves playing with her plushies, chasing a ball, and rolling in the grass. She also enjoys afternoon naps and a laid-back lifestyle. Sandy walks well on a leash and wants to please. Sandy was found a few months ago by wonderful & caring family. It’s believed she was dumped on their road as her family was never found and she was not chipped. Poor girl was severely malnourished, weak and very shy/submissive. Today Sandy is healthy, confident, beautiful, happy. smart and ready for her forever family. She is current on vaccinations and will be spayed & microchipped soon. We’re hoping to find a foster to adopt family to take her through her spay and teach basic commands and give her time to learn a routine. She is good with other dogs. Has not been tested with cats. A fenced backyard is a must. We don’t think Sandy was allowed in the house in her previous life and may have had free roam of a yard. Sandy is a good dog and going to make a terrific companion for someone that doesn’t mind putting in a little work. She is definitely worth it!!##2034245##Adoption processAdoption is a four part process. Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references. Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members. Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt. Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.Shelter locationDirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.
