Please fill out an application to set up a private meeting. Hello! I’m Aletha, a gorgeous albeit skittish adult female Shih Tzu. Sure, I’m frightened of pretty much everything except foster mom but once I get comfortable, I will show off my affectionately loving & playful side! In fact, foster mom says that I am “the sweetest little girl in the world!” No, seriously…you can ask her yourself when you come meet me! My favorite activities include exploring; saying “hello” to strangers outside; sleeping in bed with mom; and emptying out the toy box to play with my stuffed squeaky toys. I am ok with cats, calm kids, and other dogs and I haven’t had any accidents in the house since being with foster mom (YAY me). I could use more leash practice and I currently have the luxury of a fenced yard, so I hope to have one at my new home too! I am a very smart girl who knows what “come”, “outside”, and “go potty” mean and although I’m ok with the kennel/crate, I’m such a good girl that foster mom doesn’t feel I need it. That said, I don’t like it when she leaves me, so I may bark a bit, but the neighbor told her that I’m getting better about that! LOL!! Anyway, I love foster mom very much, but my dream is a fur-ever home. All I need is a calm, quiet environment with a patient, unconditionally loving person who promises to NEVER give up on me…like YOU! I am an incredibly sweet girl who is more than worth it, and I promise I will love you with my entire heart and soul! Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans.
