Sookie has all the blankets, all the pillows, the fancy food stand, the toys and treats, she is doted on daily, she even gets to hang out at the front desk some days where she is boarding because she is such a gem, but the one thing she still doesn’t have is a foster or forever home. Sookie is boarding, and while she has been patient, she doesn’t want to do it any longer. Sookie doesn’t like to be around other dogs, and on the busier louder days in boarding Sookie stresses and drools. Sookie is estimated 12 years old. She has kidney disease and arthritis which she manages with meds and special food. Don’t let her age fool you, Sookie is sassy and fun and always ready to party. We are begging for a foster for Sookie. Somewhere she can relax and enjoy her retirement days as the only animal while she waits for that special someone to adopt her. There has to be someone out there willing to show Sookie in her senior years what her life should have always been like. Please share, and consider opening up your hearts and homes for Sookie. Even a longer temporary foster would give her a well deserved break. We affectionately call Sook a firey granny, and she would absolutely give the golden girls a run for their money. First, chat with us about what you’re looking for in a dog and we will set up a time for you to meet the lucky pup. From there, fill out an application. Once reviewed we set up a time to bring your potential pup to your house for a home visit and trial week. We want to make sure it’s the right fit for both your family and the dog involved. We will be totally available during the trial week for any questions or concerns. The last step is to finalize the adoption. And then congrats, you’re a new member of the Swamp Haven family and your happy tail has just begun! Our adoption fee is $350
