NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Momma Stormy and her beautiful babies Sadie & Simba!! This little family came to us from a rural Alabama shelter. Momma Stormy is a sweet and small terrier mix. She’s around 2-3 years old and 20 lbs. She’s a very loving and pretty calm pup. She’s gets along with other dogs and has adjusted to the indoor life beautiful. She also didn’t seem to mind the car or crate. She will be completing her vetting 2/14/24 and will then be adoption ready. Sweet Sadie and Simba are 10-12 weeks and each weigh 6 lbs. We have no idea what dad is but they are built a lot like mom and we believe they will be similar in size as adults. They are spunky and playful. They love all people and animals. They will be ready 2/16/24 after their second round of vaccinations and they are altered. We are taking applications now on this sweet family and reserving all to the perfect forever homes. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals. All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy! Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! We do NOT adopt on a first come first serve basis, but to the home we fill is the best fit for that particular animal of there are multiple applicants. The adoption fee is $150 for all animals which includes all age appropriate shots, wormer, heart worm test if of age, rabies if of age, spay/neuter, monthly preventatives while in our care, and any other medical attention that may be needed.Shelter locationAll of our dogs are in foster homes, but we are very easy and flexible to set an appointment up with to meet one of our animals once the adoption application is approved. We also participate regularly at adoption events with other local rescues.
