At Pups With a Purpose Kennel, one of our goals is to spend enough time with our females and retire them early enough for them to be excellent pets on retirement. Thanda Shirleen is our first to reach this status. Thanda (meaning love in Zulu, pronounced Tonda) is a beautiful, very loving, house trained girl. She comes up to date on vaccines, is brucellosis negative, DNA tested, and is vet checked and healthy. She has been on flea and tick plus heartworm prevention since puppy hood, has been fed top of the line dog food, and has only mild dental tartar. She has just weaned her 4th litter and must intuitively know it can be her last, because although the pups are just turned 8 weeks old, she still wants them to suckle her (even though she's dry) and regurgitates for them even though they're chowing down solid food and have been for weeks! Though we have had this goal in mind from the conception of the kennel, we are having a hard time sticking to our decision because it means saying goodbye to our pets. But we know it's for her good and hope that she will find the perfect fit for her furever home. She will be sold with a spay contract.Thanda loves to go on walks, go for car (or lawn mower) rides, and snuggle with you. She enjoys playing with toys and chasing balls although she doesn't ever fetch. She lets her daughter do that. She has sudden love attacks in the middle of her playing and will run back to you and jump up, putting her head against you, begging for a scratch - which of course, she always gets.Although she has birthed and raised quite a few puppies, she is still in good health and doesn't have the huge titties of your typical retired breeder, thanks to good nutrition. Her coat rarely tangles, she doesn't shed, and typically only needs shaved 3 or 4x a year.
