Dog:Tootsie Age:9-12 months Weight: 45 lbs Location: Doylestown, PA Nicknames: Toot Good with other dogs?: Yes. Tootsie loves to play with other dogs. Unfortunately, my bulldog is not dog friendly and I need to keep them apart. Toot is a puppy and also deaf, so cannot hear the growls of other dogs and must be monitored when with another dog. Good with cats? yes, other: I have two cats and Toot is curious about them, but mostly afraid to approach them. Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Needs a couple walks a day., Needs in-house activities, Will go with the flow IQ: Average Tootsie's favorite things: Toot is independent, but very loving and sweet. Just to mention a few things… 1. She loves to go for walks, and gets so excited when she sees the harness 2. She is training with deaf dog hand signals (sit, outside, come, stay), although the hand signal and mouthing of "NO" needs much more work 3. She loves to cuddle in your lap for naps and always wants to sleep next to your head at nighttime (I allow her to sleep in bed with me-sorry) 4. She is the cutest when has the zoomies outside in the yard 5. She loves belly, ear, back rubs. 5. She is very curious and will investigate everything-and chew. Tootsie is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, cuddling, playing, following commands Ideal home: another dog, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, Lots of exercise opportunities Training Needs: potty training, socialization with people, socialization with dogs, leash training, needs obedience training, other: Training is always ongoing, right? Health issues: 1. Toot is an albino=blue eyes, all white fur, pink skin, and is deaf. Albino dogs have sensitive skin issues, but she is much improved now on an only raw food diet (never any chicken or lamb). All pet stores offer frozen raw food. It is an expense. 2. Deafness is a challenge and hand signal training is essential. She should never be without a collar or allowed off leash in a unfenced area because she cannot respond to voice commands. 3. Blue eyes and pink skin are very susceptible to sunburn and poison. She will need dog sunscreen and specialty eye goggles during warmer, sunnier months or if spends a long time outside on sunny days anytime of the year. Meet Tootsie Tootsie was found wandering in the streets. She was found thin and dirty. How can anyone just let a dog go in the streets?! Our guess is that she is part French and English bulldog. She is a sweet love bug and such a happy puppy! She will make the perfect addition to a home where she can be well cared with her specific needs. All of her tear stains are gone and she looks fantastic!
